Introducing: Book Clubs!!
Yay, a new way to connect with worms on Bookworm!! Get your book club on Bookworm or join a club to meet like-minded readers. Book clubs can be virtual or IRL, private or public. They can be collaborative, meaning all club members can add to your shared library, or follow-along, meaning only the organizer gets to choose the book but members can see & read along too. You can also host your book discussion right in the app. This is perfect for updates on your reading journey, sharing your feels on that jaw-dropping moment in chapter 13, or a Q&A with the author.
I have been so excited to bring my book club into Bookworm for SO LONG (it has taken me months to code this bad boy), and I love seeing how you all are using the feature. Iāve joined several new ones and am thrilled to have so many new reading buddies!

Have you tried out Bookworm book clubs yet? What do you think? Reply here or email [email protected] with feedback, ideas, and/or glowing praise
Like what weāre doing? Consider going ProWorm
Bookworm is community-powered and community-owned. That means we are free and independentāwe build this together, we never sell your data, and we are not beholden to anyone elseās needs or exploitative interests (lookin at you, Goodreads-owned-by-Amazon). The support of our ProWorms allows us to keep building Bookworm for everyone to enjoy. Bookworm would not be able to stay free and independent without your financial support.
Bookworm is on Discord!
Weāve created a Discord server to have a place to chat about books, bugs, and everything in between. Also, the folks who build Bookworm (we call ourselves the Community Gardeners) chat and hang out here, so if you ever want to get in touch with us, this is the most direct way.
Got a feature idea? Found a glitch in the app? Need to vent about the book you just finished? Want to lurk behind-the-scenes of your fav community app? Come chat with us on Discord š

Iām curious⦠how many of us worms have secret dreams (or real realities!!) of becoming a writer? Iāve got a tool to help!! I recently had the joy of meeting some of the folks behind Novlr, the worldās only writer-owned creative writing platform, and Iām so thrilled about the work theyāre doing that I have to share it with you.* First of all, they have a gorgeous text-editor with incredibly rich features. Like, imagine if a word doc were one of those sand zen gardens, but then each grain of sand talked to each other and provided you with sick analytics later to help you understand yourself and your habits better?! Thatās basically Novlr. Whether you consider yourself a writer or not, if you write anything creatively, it should be in Novlr.
*This is not an ad, and they donāt know Iām writing this. I just genuinely love Novlr š
They even put together this cute list of Black Friday deals for todayās writersāwhether youāre drafting, editing, marketing, or publishing, thereās probably a deal in here youāll be excited by.
That reminds me, Team Worm is thinking about what features we might build to bring more authors into our community. We are working on some, and would love feedback on others. If youāre interested in weighing in, click below:

One last thingā¦
In the US, Thanksgiving can serve as a prompt for reflection on the parts of life weāre thankful for. So⦠please allow me to be corny on main for a sec. I feel overwhelmed with gratitude and grace and joy and awe at the community created in Bookworm. Building an app is hard, but building it with you all makes it easy :ā) So let me take a moment to say thank you. Iām so thankful for the gorgeous, inclusive, delightful space weāve established, and for the new friends we continue to make, and for the stories we get to read and discuss, and for the people/worms who have joined on this journey.
Thank you xoxoxoxo,
Amelia Goodman (she/her/meelworm)
founder of Bookworm
p.s. what are you thankful for at the moment? let us know by commenting on my āask the communityā post in the app š
