Fresh Features, Hot Books, and Big Love for Team Worm

Hi there,

Let’s dive into this month’s dirt — packed with app updates, trending books, and love for team worm.

✨ Fresh Feature: Can’t Find a Book? Add It Yourself!

This one’s for all the desktop wormies (and anyone sneakily scrolling Bookworm at work—your secret’s safe with us). You can now submit books to our database directly from the web app—no more Google Forms, no app-switching, just pure bookworm bliss. šŸ“ššŸ’»

If you search for a book and it’s not there, you can now add it to our database yourself—from either the app or the web. Your submission will instantly appear in your own library so you can start tracking it right away, and then one of our lovely volunteers will moderate it and make it available for everyone else too. 🪓

This used to be a ProWorm-only perk, but now everyone can contribute to the Bookworm library. (ProWorms still get super cool stats, filters, besties, and custom wormy lewks tho šŸ’… )

Happy book-adding, wherever you worm!

Which is the perfect segue: Bookworm is community-powered, volunteer-run, and completely independent. We build this together, we never sell your data, and we are not beholden to anyone else’s needs or exploitative interests (lookin at you, Goodreads-owned-by-Amazon). The support of our ProWorms allows us to keep building Bookworm for everyone to enjoy. Bookworm would not be able to stay free and independent without your financial support.

🌸 Books in Bloom: Last month of the Spring Reading Challenge!

Spring is almost over, but there’s still time to join the spring reading challenge, set a goal, and earn an adorable seasonal outfit for your wormy. šŸŒ·šŸ“šāœØ Log your reads, track your progress, and enjoy those sweet spring vibes before they melt.

šŸ’– Shouting Out Our Incredible Volunteers

If you didn’t know already, Bookworm is completely volunteer-run. Every single feature, every cute outfit, every book moderation, every newsletter (this one included!) is made by worms who donate their time and talents because they love this community so much. That’s honestly kind of mind-blowing?! Huuuuge worm love and thank yous to our volunteer team (aka Team Worm) — you’re the squishy, beating heart of Bookworm. We’re so eager for Team Worm to introduce themselves—hopefully this very public call out is the impetus they need to agree to it hehehe. Watch this space šŸ˜›

Curious about helping out? We’re always excited to hear from people who want to get involved. Join our discord and introduce yourself!

That’s all the dirt for now, but we’ll be back soon with more updates (and probably more book recs because obviously). As always, thank you for being part of this lovely, beautiful, wormy community — we love building this with you.

Worm wishes šŸ›šŸ’–,

Team Worm
