This season we’re also debuting a special Halloween twist: ProWorms can snag the Gummy Worm costume 🪱🍬 (a spooky-silly skin that makes your wormy look like candy) and befriend our new bestie, Jacques the Pumpkin 🎃—a wise and whimsical gourd who’s all about fantasy, folklore, and a little bit of magic. Each month, we hope to chat with a wormie just like you. Bookworm is all about community, and it’s high time we get to know our neighbors. We want to learn more about your reading habits, favorite books, and the odd, beautiful things that make you you.

This month’s wormie, Samantha, is a professional book reviewer and friend of lizards. Meet Samantha Puc.

How did you find out about Bookworm?

I learned about Bookworm through working with The Nonbinarian Bookstore & Book Bike!

A heartfelt farewell to Bluestockings Coop 💙🧦

It’s with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to one of our favorite bookstores, Bluestockings Cooperative, who recently announced they will be closing at the end of 2025. Bluestockings has been a beacon of community, hope, and radical organizing for more than 26 years—an independent feminist bookstore, event hub, and space for collective imagination. They’ve also been such good friends to Bookworm, spreading the word about us and welcoming us into their space for events (including one of our all-time favorites, the Wormtastic Book Fair for Grown Ups 🐛📚). Their closure is a huge loss for the bookish and activist communities in NYC and beyond, and we’re really, really sad to see them go. We’re sending love and gratitude to the entire Bluestockings crew and everyone who’s found belonging in their space. Thank you for everything you’ve built and nurtured—you’ll always be a pillar of our community. 💜

Happy reading,

Team Worm 🐛🥰
