Here's our conversation with BrainyHeroine. Our questions are in bold, and BrainyHeroineβs responses are directly below each question.
What inspired you to become a wormfluencer for Bookworm?
I love the community and vibe of Bookworm and genuinely want everyone to know how great it is. Plus I want to be the person leaving ear worms (lol) about books everywhere I go.
What are your bookish reading habits? (ie a cup of earl grey tea while you read, need to read outside, etc.)
I absolutely love going on reading dates with my partner, I love reading in bed and in the park. I am always the first to get in the car for a bookstore date and honestly an indie store crawl totally tops a bar crawl. Give me a hot bevvy and lil sweet treat and I'll be glued to my book for ages.
What is one book Bookstagram or Booktok made you buy? Are there any books you are planning to buy because of Bookstagram or Booktok?
Honestly, just about any romance book or dark romance book I've read had been because of Bookstagram or Booktok. I think the favorite I've read though (and never shut up about) is Six Deaths of the Saint by Alix E. Harrow. It is such an amazing novella. The Locked Tomb series was also added to my TBR because of Booktok.
What is your favorite genre to read? What are your favorite books from that genre?
Lately my tastes have gone from psychological thrillers (hello The Locked Ward, The Last Mrs. Parrish, The Girl Before, etc.) to fantasy (any and all things DRAGON, Poppy War, Priory of the Orange Tree, and so many others), to horror (What My Bones Know, Witchcraft for Wayward Girls) and queer horror (We Shall Be Monsters and What Moves the Dead). It's been fun indulging in my reading journey.
What makes the bookworm app special? Why should other readers join bookworm?
Again, the community. You genuinely feel like you're just talking to your friends or delightful strangers at a coffee shop.
Where can folks find you on social media?
I can be found almost anywhere as BrainyHeroine
