The Launch of Bookworm Pro
Last month, we launched Bookworm Pro, the premium version of our beloved bookworm community. I asked for your financial support to keep Bookworm free and independent, and so many of you went ✨ProWorm! I’m so grateful! If you haven’t gone ProWorm yet, please consider it. Not only will you get a sweet sweet bestie for your worm, you will be supporting the development of new features (like multi-worm collaborative shelves—coming soon 🙀)!
Sweaty Worm Summer is here 🥵
New season, new summer footwear! Plus, join the summer reading challenge to get these sweet shades.

sweaty worm summer reading attire
Bookworm hosts a new reading challenge every season. In a Bookworm reading challenge, you set a personal reading goal: the number of books you want to finish by the end of the season. No one else can see the number you choose, and your worm gets a badge when you sign up. You can also edit this number later!
I built these reading goals to be seasonal because I wanted to move away from the end-of-year pressure/angst that comes with a yearly reading goal. That being said, a lot of worms have expressed that they want both a seasonal reading challenge and an annual one. So coming soon, you’ll be able to set an annual reading goal, and any books that you finished this year will be included! But I better not see anyone anxiously reading 30 graphic novels in December!!
Have a feature/feedback you want to see implemented in Bookworm? Reply here to drop me a note 🥰🐛
Don’t miss out on new features!

Bae Area Babes: Bookworm Book Swap coming at you!!
I’ve been itching to gather my Bae Area bookworms and the time has come. Gather your wormiest friends, your cutest picnic blankets, and the books that you no longer want on your shelves & swippity-swap with us! We’ll be hanging out, reading, snacking, and vibing from 2pm onwards at Lake Merritt in Oakland.
What’s new in the app
There’s a new newsfeed! With a burst of new wormies (and therefore more traffic), I’ve been reworking the Bookworm home feed to make it faster to load and more interesting to look at. Previously, the newsfeed showed everyone’s updates in chronological order. The ✨new ✨newsfeed is a bit more curated. I’m going to keep working to make it better, and I’d love your input & feedback!
Have you noticed the new newsfeed? What do you think? |
Emoji reactions are here! Tell us how you really feel. React to anything with the four elements: water. earth. fire. air. …I mean: tear, heart, fire, & exclamation. What emoji reactions do you want to see next? DM me!
You can now edit your posts! Made a typo? Regret your hot take? Now, you can edit your posts. Just tap those little three buttons and edit away.

[bonus] Call for submissions
I don't know how I’ve never thought of this before, but I’ve thought of it now and we can never go back. I’m going to release a limited edition, digital Bookworm sticker pack for you to decorate all your iMessages and WhatsApps with. AND I’m inviting you all to the party! Send me your art, designs, vague ideas, and wildest dreams to be included in the Bookworm Message (digital) Sticker Pack. The deadline for submissions is August 1st, so whip out those markers, sketchbooks, iPads, and/or post-it notes. It doesn’t even have to be strictly bookworm related. Get creative! I can’t wait to see what you come up with. Here’s a little taste of what I’ve whipped up so far:
