Each month, we hope to chat with a wormie just like you. Bookworm is all about community, and it’s high time we get to know our neighbors. We want to learn more about your reading habits, favorite books, and the odd, beautiful things that make you you.
This month’s wormie, Fern, is an active book club participant and husky dog owner! 👩🏫 🐕 Meet Fern.
How did you find out about Bookworm?
I actually found Bookworm while scrolling through the Apple App Store! I had been using Goodreads, StoryGraph, and Bookmory, but honestly, none of them really clicked for me. I was tired of bouncing between apps and just wanted one that felt right. Bookworm immediately stood out—it matched my fun, colorful aesthetic, and it’s genuinely enjoyable to look at and use. It felt like the perfect blend of function and personality.
Meelworm’s Marginalia
A note from Bookworm founder Amelia (aka meelworm).
With the new year coming up, I’ve been thinking about resolutions — and realizing I haven’t had “read more” on my list in a long time. I’ve found that when books are visible, nearby, and part of your everyday life, and you’re gentle with yourself when you inevitably hit a slump, reading kind of… happens.
That’s why I’m always trying to nudge the goal away from reading more and toward lowering the barrier to reading. Keep books around. Abandon books without guilt. Audiobooks absolutely count. I wrote more about this here if you’re in a reflective mood:
This time of year is also one of my favorites: dropping soon is Bookworm Wrapped AND the Winter Reading Challenge, plus a big wave of new friends joining the app (HI 👋 🥰 ). If you’ve got a reading buddy who’d love this little corner of the internet, now’s a great time to invite them along 💚
That’s all for now — thanks for reading, and we’ll see you in Bookworm.
Happy reading,
Team Worm
