Each month, we hope to chat with a wormie just like you. Bookworm is all about community, and it’s high time we get to know our neighbors. We want to learn more about your reading habits, favorite books, and the odd, beautiful things that make you you.
This month’s wormie, Amy, is a high school librarian who reads a ton of YAs (with a touch of mystery)! 👩🏫 Meet Amy.
How did you find out about Bookworm?
I was looking for an alternative to Goodreads and read someone’s recommendation on Reddit.
Meelworm’s Marginalia
A note from Bookworm founder Amelia (aka meelworm).
As we head into Bookworm’s fifth year (still can’t believe that’s real 🥰), I’ve been feeling extra grateful for how much this community has shaped my reading life for the better. Especially right now, when the world feels really heavy and scary in so many ways, it means so much to have a cozy, kind corner of the internet like this.
I’m in a reading slump right now (it’s hard for me to quiet my brain enough to read in times like this), but being in the Bookworm community helps me stay connected to my reader self even when I’m not flying through books. On top of the impeccable recommendations and lovely friends I’ve made here, y’all have taught me that reading slumps are just a normal part of reading life (and that we support each other through them). Y’all taught me to be patient and not force anything — trusting that the spark will come back when it’s ready, and that I’ve got a cozy place to hang out in the meantime.
You worms also introduced me to some of my go-to authors who help me get out of said slumps. Let’s trade tips again! What do you do when you’re in a slump? I just posted “what are your go-tos for getting out of a reading slump?” in the app this morning — come share your wisdom and book recs with me and our fellow worms 🐛💚
That’s all for now — thanks for reading, and we’ll see you in Bookworm.
Happy reading,
Team Worm
