The Dirt: July 2025

Support our community, go ProWorm today!
Bookworm is community-powered, volunteer-run, and completely independent. We build this together, we never sell your data, and we are not beholden to anyone else’s needs or exploitative interests (lookin at you, Goodreads-owned-by-Amazon). The support of our ProWorms allows us to keep building Bookworm for everyone to enjoy. Bookworm would not be able to stay free and independent without your financial support.

Each month, we hope to chat with a wormie just like you. Bookworm is all about community, and it’s high time we get to know our neighbors. We want to learn more about your reading habits, favorite books, and the odd, beautiful things that make you you.
This month’s wormie loves dystopian fiction and their adorable black cat, Munch. Meet Paige Levy.
How did you find out about Bookworm?
A social media ad a long time ago! Once I downloaded, I was hooked 🪱. I hated traversing the far-too serious world of Goodreads and was so relieved to find this worm, accepting community 🩷
🐛 Wormin’ Out with Amelia ☁️
It’s been really fun to watch Team Worm grow and find our groove over the start of this year. This lil ragtag team of volunteers is so delightful and supportive; it’s such a joy to build Bookworm together. We just launched the redesign of the book detail page, which feels like a big step forward—and now we’re embarking on building one of your most requested features. Stay tuned to learn more :P. My own reading has been a bit of a rollercoaster this year: a few slumps, broken up by books I totally devoured. My latest 5-star reads were Annie Bot, Fight Night, Jonesy, and Stag Dance—all weird, funny, and totally original in different ways. Hope you’re finding reads that surprise you in the best way, too. 💛
Happy reading,
Team Worm 🐛🥰
